Server Downtime
Sever has been down this past week or so, due to local internet issues. A lot of people in the area I'm living has been having problems with their internet, and I've been getting speeds of 0.1kb/s to 2kb/s quite regularly lately.
Everything seems to be working again, so I've reactivated the server and away we go.
I don't plan on disappearing again (as much fun as that is) and work will still be made on EOSEP as regularly as I can.
Please remember that I have a real life, and it's very important, full of normal people problems and problems more specific to me and these take priority over EOSEP.
I've been working on EOSEP for a few years now, and I expect it to take a few more, especially with what I envision it to be. The major update that's in heavy development, that you guys won't see any result of until it's finished, will be finally removing the "Endless-Online" tag attached to EOSEP, and release my own game full of awesomeness and win. So look forward to it and have patients :)

Updates!
Been a bit busy and real life and havn't had enough time to work on eosep.
Today I've added 4 new npcs to the goblin village, and started working on their drops.
New equipment should be added soon, all though maybe not today, I've got plans in an hour so I'll try to get as much work done as possible until then. :3

Server Crash
Server's crashed a couple of times these last few days, I believe it's due to the pathing system I was testing. So I've removed it.

Devil's Gate
Updated once more, I've redone all the waves.
Now instead of a boss every wave, it's a boss every 5 waves.
The lowest level devil's gate is 10 to 20, and should be a lot more challenging and balanced now.
The event still needs to be started by either Azathoia or I, however it will be automatic soon.

I just spent half an hour trying to fix a network problem with my wireless, I checked all the settings disabled and renabled my wireless card multiple times, restarted my router.
Finally I decided to check the cable, it had slid about 5mm out of it's socket and was having trouble making a connection. Pushed it back in and away I ago :3
Bah, that's far too much work for 1am.

Scratchy Tickets
A new npc has appeared in the "Goblin Village" (Name still to be decided) selling Bronze Tickets, these have a random chance of giving you a reward including Prize Tokens.
Prize Tokens are trade able for a list of rare items, including all the pets added so far.

Updated "Goblin Village"
Well it's not really a goblin village, it's a regular village with goblins outside it.
It's turning into a proper town now, with npcs and shops!
The goblins have moved to the map to the east, more areas will be added soon with new monsters.
Level 15 equipment for archers have been released with this minor update too.

More Fixes
Fixed damage spells working on party members in pk, along with aoe spells working on allied pets in pk.

Minor Fixes
Fixed an exploit with paperdoll not checking your gender.
Continued work on the guild system, there seems to be some demand for a guild system now :)

Azathoia is Finally Active
Azathoia, aka Lazythoia, my head mapper and the one incharge of responding to the e-mail applications and hiring artists, writers and mappers has finally managed to make some time to work on EOSEP.
Now that he's here, some steady work on quests and maps should be made. So expect some major playable updates soon!

Slight Issues with the new Host
Apparently eosep doesn't like Windows 2003, and crashes a lot. So I'm doing a lot of debugging trying to find out why. Until then I'll leave it on my Win7 machine.

Item Update
I've made item drops expire and disappear after being left alone for too long. This will stop certain areas from getting cluttered with items.
Right now I'm testing it with a 30second expire time, but I plan on making items last 30mins.

Harthador the Mysterious Boss of the Harthian Island
You can now fight Harthador, the overpowered, skeleton summoning, spell slinging boss of Harthian Island.
After finishing what we've finished of the quest line, Kai will warp you to a small island where you can fight him.
This is only a temp option to fight him, and he'll be properly added into the story in the future.
He has a bunch of rare drops, so good like beating him. He's tough.

Bug:
Sorlin won't accept the money Kai gives you.
Reason:
There's a bug in the client to do with quest reward gold. Not much I can do about it at this point.

Drop 1g and pick it back up, or relog.

I think it has something to do with the random order byte, and my decryption functions.

Wait a few mins, and it should work again.

Quest Engine Update Finished
Finally finished updating to the new quest engine.
I've done some testing and seems to be working as it should, however if you do find any bugs comment here or post of the forums.
When posting this, I'm still yet to convert all the quests to the new format, so any npc that doesn't respond with a quest is yet to be converted.
I'll be converting all the npcs over the next couple of days.

+ Smaller memory usage on save (Main reason I made the new engine)
+ Quest objectives now have a message when you complete it
+ A lot of new functions (Such as support for Karma)

For those of you new to Endless-Online, here are the instructions on how to join my development server.

Elemental Effects
Hitting a monster with their elemental weakness will now play a special effect. Some of the effects right now are quite annoying, so I'll play around with the animations.

Elemental Shards
Added a new item type called a Shard.
Shards have an element (Water, Earth, Fire, Wind, Dark and Light), these shards can be used to add elemental properties to your equipment.
They don't drop yet, but they will drop in the new area once it's done.
Some new equipment have been added to work with shards, however once again you'll have to wait until the new area is finished to access them.

Anti-Npc Murder You When You Lag While Warping Feature
Just added a test anti-npc murder you when you lag while warping feature.
Npcs should ignore you when you're still loading/download the map you just warped too. This also shouldn't be abusable, the flag that makes npcs not target you is disabled as soon as you do anything.

Just Had A Break
There's been no updates the last few days thanks to Romanovitch introducing me to Minecraft. Well my addiction is no more! (Or at least lessened) I'm .sure these shakes will end soon...Maybe a little bit won't hurt...
Well anyways, I'm back to working on eosep now.
After long intellectual conversation with Synonym, we decided that monsters should have multiple weakness and resistances. So I'm going to add support for that right now (Should be quick and easy).

Elemental Arrows
Added support for elemental arrows, I also noticed that I had broken all the other elemental weapons at some point. So I fixed them.
Dragon Arrows (L10 Fire) will be a rare drop from the boss once I add him.
I'm trying to decide if I want to add special elemental damage effects with elemental weapons/arrows.

Exp System Changed
Now you get exp for fighting monsters 15 levels above or below you, however the larger the difference the more the exp is reduced.
The first town on the mainland is almost ready, so all your level 10 and higher people will have a new place to hangout and train ;)

Testing Boss
We did a test today of the boss for the island, he uses dark magic and can summon minions.
He hits a little too much damage with his magic, so I'm going to be adding some special items with magic defense.

Tricks and Tips
It's time for an overview on what each stat does.
Str;
Strength increases your melee damage a lot, and your ranged damage (With a bow) a decent amount too. This is a very important stat for the warrior.
Int;
Intelligence increases your magic damage, and is a must for mages that cast damage spells.
Wis;
Wisdom increases your max tp, and how quickly you restore it over time. All mages should invest some points into this.
Agi;
Agility increases your accuracy and your ranged damage. Archers need a few stat points into this because of their low base accuracy, and for the damage bonus.
Con;
Constitution increases your max health and your defense, very useful to put some stat points into however this is a must for melee classes that want to survive.
Cha;
Charisma increases your evasion and how strong your pets are, this stat is important for classes that use pets. (Those classes aren't accessible yet)

I just rewrote the way the server handles spells, now it loads them from a txt file and creates a pub file for sending to the clients.
Expect lots of fun new spells, here a few that will be available soon:

Devil's Gate
I'm working on a new and improved version of Devil's Gate.
For those of you that never got to play it, it's a small map with a large amount of monsters spawning in waves. The goal is to survive to the end and beat the final boss.
The new version is going to be a 3 part event...
Part 1 - The Gate
Survive 5 waves of bosses and their minions.
Part 2 - The Labyrinth
Make your way through a randomly generated maze full of traps and monsters as fast as you can.
Part 3 - The Devil
Time for the final conflict, everyone who has managed to survive until now get to fight the devil himself. The devil will use a large assortment of spells such as summoning minions, teleporting and raining meteors.
Winning the event will lead to all sorts of fun and powerful rewards ;)
Multiple of the same event will be launched at the same time with different level ranges for each one.

Spell Levels
Leveling up your cure will increase it's effect. Now spell levels officially have an effect on all spells, hooray.

Added more slimes, snakes and mushrooms.

Added npcs to all the outside maps, a couple of them (Mostly the mushrooms) don't have stats yet, but they'll be fightable very soon.

A few people get lost very quickly, and others can't find their way out of town.
You can walk of any outside map edge to reach the next map, there's no need to follow paths anymore :).
Try to remember the path you take while exploring the island, it's very large and it can be hard to find your way back to town.

The quest now completes properly and gets placed into your history.
This quest can be found just west of Harthian Village, the local carrot farmer is having trouble with his neighbor's goats eating all his carrots.
