Exp System Changed

Now you get exp for fighting monsters 15 levels above or below you, however the larger the difference the more the exp is reduced.

The first town on the mainland is almost ready, so all your level 10 and higher people will have a new place to hangout and train ;)

Major Updates

I'm updating the base engine the quests are based on, along with some major changes to how npcs work.

This means there will be a few quest wipes as I change how quests are saved in the database and handled by the server.

Novice Robes (L10) - Mage Only
 +Defense, +Evasion, +Intelligence, +Wisdom

Novice Staff (L10) - Mage Only
 +Tp, +Intelligence

Testing Boss

We did a test today of the boss for the island, he uses dark magic and can summon minions.
He hits a little too much damage with his magic, so I'm going to be adding some special items with magic defense.

To Do:
 * Finish the quests
 * Balance the monsters
 * Add some more equipment (Mostly for the mage)
 * Finish Devil's Gate

Tricks and Tips

It's time for an overview on what each stat does.

Str;
Strength increases your melee damage a lot, and your ranged damage (With a bow) a decent amount too. This is a very important stat for the warrior.

Int;
Intelligence increases your magic damage, and is a must for mages that cast damage spells.

Wis;
Wisdom increases your max tp, and how quickly you restore it over time. All mages should invest some points into this.

Agi;
Agility increases your accuracy and your ranged damage. Archers need a few stat points into this because of their low base accuracy, and for the damage bonus.

Con;
Constitution increases your max health and your defense, very useful to put some stat points into however this is a must for melee classes that want to survive.

Cha;
Charisma increases your evasion and how strong your pets are, this stat is important for classes that use pets. (Those classes aren't accessible yet)

New Spells

The new spells can now be taught by Lani, but only to Mages.

Classes Added

Baker the Guild Leader is now in charge of class changes.
Speak to him when you're level 10 or higher and he'll let you become an Archer, a Mage or a Warrior.

Archer - Ranged
Uses a bow and other ranged weapons, the Archer specializes in long range non-elemental combat.

Mage - Magic
Casting powerful elemental magics and using holy healing spells, the Mage specializes in ranged elemental combat and supporting allies.

Warrior - Melee
The Warrior boosts the most health and defense out of any class, they deal powerful close range attacks with little fear of dieing.

Spell System Updated

I just rewrote the way the server handles spells, now it loads them from a txt file and creates a pub file for sending to the clients.

Expect lots of fun new spells, here a few that will be available soon:

Heal
Restores 50hp at level 1

Gust
Deals minor wind damage to a single target

Fire Storm
Deals minor fire damage with an area of effect

Protection
Increases armor for a short time

Devil's Gate

I'm working on a new and improved version of Devil's Gate.
For those of you that never got to play it, it's a small  map with a large amount of monsters spawning in waves. The goal is to survive to the end and beat the final boss.

The new version is going to be a 3 part event...

Part 1 - The Gate
Survive 5 waves of bosses and their minions.

Part 2 - The Labyrinth
Make your way through a randomly generated maze full of traps and monsters as fast as you can.

Part 3 - The Devil
Time for the final conflict, everyone who has managed to survive until now get to fight the devil himself. The devil will use a large assortment of spells such as summoning minions, teleporting and raining meteors.

Winning the event will lead to all sorts of fun and powerful rewards ;)

Multiple of the same event will be launched at the same time with different level ranges for each one.

Hopefully this will be even more fun than the last version.

New Items

Added 2 new potions to the grocery;
Red Potion - 12g
 + 60hp

Blue Potion - 12g
 + 50tp

I also added 'Shrooms' which Mushrooms can drop, these sell for 18g and are the most expensive general drop you can sell so far.

Spell Levels

Leveling up your cure will increase it's effect. Now spell levels officially have an effect on all spells, hooray.

New Monsters

Added more slimes, snakes and mushrooms.
Need lots of play testing to find out if they're too hard, too easy and if there exp values is enough :)

Populated World

Added npcs to all the outside maps, a couple of them (Mostly the mushrooms) don't have stats yet, but they'll be fightable very soon.

Tricks and Tips

A few people get lost very quickly, and others can't find their way out of town.

You can walk of any outside map edge to reach the next map, there's no need to follow paths anymore :).
Try to remember the path you take while exploring the island, it's very large and it can be hard to find your way back to town.

Fixed 'Goat Slayer' Quest

The quest now completes properly and gets placed into your history.

This quest can be found just west of Harthian Village, the local carrot farmer is having trouble with his neighbor's goats eating all his carrots.

Introduction

Update blog for the endless-online server emulation project (EOSEP) is now online :)

The development server can be accessed by changing your endless-online client's ip to:
renazaras.no-ip.org

If you can't login, then the server will be offline. The server is hosted in New Zealand, so if you're overseas expect lag.

I'll post updates as I make them here, and tips and hints about game play.
